For exporters and suppliers selling to Türkiye

What duties apply to your product when imported into Türkiye?

Look up the Turkish customs tariff by HS code. See customs duty, additional customs duty, VAT, special consumption tax and trade-defence measures, each with its effective date and legal basis.

What you can check

Everything your Turkish buyer will be asked at the border, before you quote a price.

How Turkish import duties are worked out

  1. 01

    Classify the product

The 12-digit Turkish tariff code (GTIP) decides the rates. Its first 6 digits are the international HS code your customs authority also uses.

  2. 02

    Establish the origin

Preferential rates apply only when the goods meet the origin rules of an agreement and the importer presents a valid proof of origin.

  3. 03

    Determine the customs value

Ad valorem duties are applied to the customs value, generally the CIF value at the Turkish border.

  4. 04

Add up all duties and taxes

Customs duty, additional customs duty, trade-defence duties, special consumption tax and import VAT can all apply to the same shipment.

Frequently asked questions

Is the information on this site legally binding?

No. Rates are compiled from the Official Gazette and the Turkish tariff schedule, and each one links to its legal basis. Only the Turkish text published in the Official Gazette is binding. For a binding classification, the importer can apply for Binding Tariff Information (BTB) from the Turkish customs administration.

Are tariff descriptions available in English?

Turkish tariff descriptions are official only in Turkish, so we show the official Turkish description with a clear label. The tariff page also has a short glossary of words that often appear in Turkish tariff descriptions.

Do goods from the European Union pay customs duty in Türkiye?

Under the Türkiye–EU Customs Union, industrial goods in free circulation in the EU generally enter without customs duty when accompanied by an A.TR movement certificate. Agricultural products and some other goods follow separate rules. Check the code page for the rates that apply to EU origin.

Who pays the duties?

Import duties and taxes are paid by the importer in Türkiye when the goods are released for free circulation, unless agreed otherwise in your contract (for example under DDP terms). Knowing the total cost helps you and your buyer agree on price and Incoterms.

How up to date are the rates?

Every rate shows its effective date and legal basis. Changes published in the Official Gazette are reflected after review, and the page shows when the data was last updated.
